The Oakland Law Collaborative continues to demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Palestine and an end to the siege of Gaza and the U.S. funded Israeli occupation of historic Palestine. We further:

  • Affirm the Al-Awda Points of Unity which as part of the Palestine Right to Return Coalition affirms that the Palestinian people, regardless of their religious affiliation, are indigenous to Palestine. Until the dismantling of the exclusionary and racist character of Israel, and until all Palestinians are granted the right to return and achieve equality, the Al-Awda Points of Unity call for the the following:
    • An end to all US political, military and economic aid to Israel;
    • The divestment of all public and private entities from all Israeli corporations and American corporations with subsidiaries operating within Israel;
    • An end to the investment of Labor Union members’ pension funds in Israel;
    • The boycott of all Israeli products;
    • The right to return for all Palestinian refugees to their original towns, villages and lands with compensation for damages inflicted on their property and lives;
    • The right for all Palestinian refugees to full restitution of all confiscated and destroyed property; and
    • The formation of an independent, democratic state for all its citizens in all of Palestine.
  • Demand that the US comply with its own law, the Leahy Act, by ending support for Israel to violate international human rights treaties with impunity
  • Recognize that Zionism is racism, and the genocide and occupation in Palestine is an ongoing Nakba rooted in racist nation state borders that facilitate the ethnic cleansing of indigenous populations.
  • Stand against the occupation and settler colonialism of Palestinian land and the continued occupation and settler colonialism of Indigenous land in the U.S.
  • Connect and acknowledge ongoing genocides in Armenia, Congo, Sudan, and Ethiopia, as capitalist resource wars in the SouthWest Asia North Africa (SWANA) region and Sub-Saharan Africa that create profits for multinational corporations.

As radical movement lawyers and legal workers, we oppose Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) training of the Oakland Police Department (OPD) and other local police agencies, and stand with communities and protest movements in the Bay Area who are facing political repression as a result of taking direct action against U.S. funded genocide in Palestine. We demand S.F. DA Brook Jenkins drop the charges against the Bay Bridge 78 and will continue to defend those arrested for civil disobedience.
